Shadow of the Colossus
Shadow of the Colossus: The regular promise of “Art Game”
always have always got me interested until I play them.
In fact, I have been meaning to play this game for quite a long time. By the end I realized that it is exactly what I expected. Which sounds like a compliment, but it is not. What I expect
is fairly two dimensional and when play mechanics such as leveling up, mini-games, and design your own character usually exceeds my expectations. But not this one, it is about as flat as its
color palate. If you look at the back of the box you expect to walk around and
then kill monsters. That is exactly what you do. Oh you do watch cinematics but that is about it. So here it is, the Shadow of the Colossus the guide.
Introduction -------
Don't push start!
Watch the intro.
A bird flies over Yosemite
national park. It flaps its wings and passes right by Ashton Kutcher who is riding a black horse. He stops to give a long drawn out gaze telling us that he is either wary from the journey or maybe just listens to a lot of Emo. There is a gap and the horse jumps over. A moon appears and then goes behind a cloud, possibly creating a "Shadow".
The kid looks up at the trees and walk by the pond where Smeagol found the one true ring. Rain falls and he
walks into a building that is definitely old because some of it is falling
down.
He emerges onto a bridge.
It is dramatic, cost a fortune, and was likely the result of some heavy
pork barrel spending.
